Yes, the Galaxy A53 5G has two messaging apps.

The app icon that has 3 horizontal stacked lines is Google Messages. And the app icon with 3 horizontal dots is Samsung Messages.

My Galaxy A53 5G comes with Google Messages set as the default SMS app. You can always change it in Settings > Apps > Choose default apps > SMS app.

Suppose you opt to use Samsung Messages. In that case, you can disable Google’s one by just long-tapping on the app icon and selecting Disable.
