How to lock my Nexus phone (Android Marshmallow) remotely?

Is there a way to lock my Nexus phone with a password or PIN remotely without having the phone with me? My Nexus is running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

If you’ve sign in to your Google account on your phone, you can set a lock screen password remotely using Android Device Manager.

Sign in to Android Device Manager on a computer’s browser.
If you have multiple Android devices sign in with the same Google account, make sure you select the right device.
Click Lock.
Enter the password in the New Password and Confirm password fields, and then tap Lock.
Your Nexus phone will now be locked by the new password.
