2 ways to remove learned words in Samsung Keyboard:

i. To remove a learned word
1. Long tap a learned word in the (keyboard) predictive bar.
2. On the Remove prompt, tap OK.

ii. To remove all the learned words
1. From your device’s Settings, tap Language and input.
2. Tap Samsung keyboard.
3. Tap Reset settings.
4. Clear personalized data.

Don’t want to remove all words from my Samsung Tab S2 tablet.
Your answer in “I” works with short words, but “long” words/phrases memorized are not removed with that procedure, i.e., a memorize word/phrase such as”IamFromTheGreatStateOfNewJerseyUSAMerryChristmas”.

Sorry that I don’t own a Samsung On Nxt to test things out for you.
As far as I know, Samsung keyboard learns the words you often type through the Predictive Text feature. On some models, the keyboard comes with the Personalized data option in the Samsung keyboard settings which you uncheck to disable the word learning.

The newest models are very likely to have the ‘Personalized data’ option taken out. In that case, you’ll just need to turn off the Predictive text option to disable the word learning.

I do not see the option of Samsung Keyboard or Reset settings under Language and Input. I have S6 with the stupid Nougat version. How do I remove those damned learned words in bulk?

I keep getting rid of incorrectly “learned words” but they keep coming back, along with other words I would never have used. Are learned words somehow coming from a database of everyone’s learned words? There’s so many stupid words in there and it drives me nuts that I can’t get rid of them for good.

To clear all of the learned words from android device keyboards that don’t offer it under keyboard settings go to Settings > General > Application manager > All > Samsung keyboard (or whichever keyboard you are using on the device) > Clear Data.
This resets all the keyboards settings as well so you will need to go back and change any you have customised again but it’s a small price to pay to get rid of a million typos ?

Go to SETTINGS and then click GENERAL MANAGEMENT then LANGUAGE AND INPUT and then select VIRTUAL KEYBOARD then SAMSUNG KEYBOARD and then at the bottom you will see RESET SETTINGS and then click the 2nd option CLEAR PERSONALIZED DATA.

Hi Using the S7 Edge with updated Nougat:
1) my phone learns words such as “what t are” or even “I am married now” and no matter how long i press and hold on the phrases they cannot be erased or unlearnt.
2) the phone suggests words that are ridiculous and accepts any word i type without correcting it, so “teacher” will become “teaschr” when i am typing and this would be accepted with no correction offered.
3) Is Samsung ever going to fix these issues as there are numerous complaints on various fora but no solutions in sight.

Ethan, thank you. The first method (long press) works on my older Galaxy S6 but not on my Tab S2. The second method works on my S2. So happy to not have to correct my autocorrect corrections!

go to the Dictionary App via Settings > Apps.
Clear the cache.

My keyboard types in the word ou r. This is meant to be our. As I am typing I must go back an make sure to delete correct this word. To erase this word you word normally just click and get rid of it. This error remains a blue-hilight word on the field. It is not eligible to be eliminated. So I tried to repeat the ou part of the word and the r part the word. Disaster! I really do not wish to reset how it looks as if I do not have a choice which is such a disappointment.

On the Galaxy Note 8 – to clear the learned data/words/phrases:
– SETTINGS (gear on top right hand corner of pull-down menu)
– General management
– Language and input
– On-screen keyboard (important step)
– Samsung Keyboard
– Reset to default settings
– Clear personalized data

The above removes all learned words (e.g. “ou r”) and phrases – the Note 8 starts learning over.

To get rid of one – long tap/press it on the predictive toolbar/bar and click/press/tap on “OK”

unfortunately samsung is not prepared to fix the bug wherein learned phrases or more than one word can be deleted by long press. All learnt phrase and more than 1 word phrase such as “we can” or the error phrase “ou r” cannot be erased from any of its galaxy range of phones except by resetting which most of us do not want to. SAMSUNG????
